There is only one day left before we vote for a new President.
There is only one day left to make a difference in this election.
Today is the final day to vote early.
Today in Iowa, hundreds of volunteers will be knocking on doors, and making phone calls.
On November 5th, will you be wishing you had done more?

"This is the last day! He's 30 so I can't punish him, but he said 'Mom, I promise I will.'"
"God forbid something should happen on the fourth, machines break down, you forget your ID, it would be horrible.Less than three days left. It's time. We need you and it's the most important thing in the world right now."
"We need somebody who is intelligent, compassionate and has moral fiber. This is a man who, when other people play partisanship like a sport, he doesn't think like that, he doesn't work like that, and he doesn't live like that.Look what we've lost. We can get it back with the team we have."
"McKay is standing there and says 'What do we do now?' Well what we're going to do is work on the green energy economy, we're going to help our veterans, we're going to help working people, we're going to pass the children's health insurance program, and we're going to end the war in Iraq honorably and responsibly. We're going to end it."
"I'm so ashamed of my party, especially the last four years. So I drive my little green Prius and drive all the old folks to the polls to early vote."
I became a U.S. Citizen this year to vote in the general election. That was my primary motivation. I am excited to let everyone know that not only I became the U.S. citizen and registered to vote on the same day, but importantly I also voted early for the first time ever.
I was inspired by the CALL FOR CHANGE, and wanted to VOTE FOR CHANGE!!
I will be watching the elections closely on November 4.
GO OUT AND VOTE!!
Just to tip people off, My fiancee and I voted early today and the address for the early polling place was wrong on the Obama website. The website and google map said 108 Milan Avenue for the Board of Elections office, when it is actually in the Huron County government building on 180 Milan Avenue - Norwalk, OH.
And by the way, I went on my lunch break and waited over an hour to vote. Although people are not supposed to talk about the candidates and issues, there were alot of people who kept saying one codeword: "Change".
The early voting initiative seems to be paying off. It seemed that people CAN'T WAIT to vote for Obama - Biden.
I'm excited and I hope we win Ohio.
Jeff
CNN is reporting that nearly 20% of all registered voters in Georgia and in North Carolina have already case their ballots. This is even more impressive when we consider that nearly half of all registered voters rarely show up at the poll as all. This is a presidential election, which it itself stimulates voter turnout, but there is no escaping that if this trend continues, it will be a historic event. The question is: What is propelling this high early –vote turnout? There are three possible forces, all of which are probably playing a role—and all of which seem to be helping Barrack Obama.
(1) Critics of Obama would argue that Obama voters are being driven by the most expensive campaign in history, with more money being thrown at GOTV efforts than ever before. It is true that Obama is making early voting a part of his message at nearly every event, warning his followers of voter-day mishaps that could side-track their voter-day plans.
(2) Political scientists would point to the economy, citing a trend toward higher levels of involvement during times of crisis. This is especially bad for the McCain camp because ANES surveys have demonstrated that retrospective voting is especially strong amongst traditional conservatives, who tend to respond most to the question “are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
(3) Finally, political pundits have consistently pointed to the size of the Obama rallies as evidence of excitement about the Democratic candidate. Even Obama himself, poking fun at himself during the Al Smith Dinner, noted he usually requires a stadium to hold an event. There has been no comparable increase in the number of attendees at McCain rallies.
Each of these forces favors Barrack Obama, an odd turn-around because early votes have traditionally favored more resource-rich republican identifiers.
What is the advantage of the early voter? There are three important ones. (1) Early voting for a candidate helps to build momentum; (2) a vote cast early cannot we “swung” in the last few days of a campaign; and (3) a vote cast early is a sure vote which cannot be frustrated by the long lines or other interruptions on voting day.
Perhaps early voters will capture the White House this year.
A FEW YEARS AGO BUSH PASSED THE "HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT". which was designed, in my opinion, to "legally" rig elections for the Republicans. I do not believe this is an overstatement. It is what is happening. It's an insidious law, which says that if your name doesn't EXACTLY match a government database, your vote doesn't COUNT!. Last election over 3 million votes were DISQUALIFIED. Can you imagine that? In the United States? So how does this hurt Democrats and help Republicans? Easy. It's based on exact matches of names, and poorer people, plus new voters (two large Democratic constituencies) tend to have more problems with uniformity of their names across various documents. If you're a physician for instance, well educated, upper middle class and your name is Bob Smith III, M.D., you'll probably always write your name that way. But if you're struggling just to make ends meet, don't have a drivers license, can barely keep your head above water (or maybe your 18) your life is less perfect, and our name might be different in various documents. Add in cultural issues (Hispanic names often have numerous "middle" names) and you get the point. Voter suppression. This is designed to hurt Democrats. And the laws one by one are being challenged as unconstitutional, but it's too late for 2008 to change these laws. All of this makes it critical that you read the attached two documents (and the email below) and tell the world of this issue.Because of this, regardless of the polls, Barack Obama might very well lose due to voter suppression. This is real. This is happening. And when the polls all say that Barack is up by 8% but then he loses, you have to wonder why.
Follow the steps on p.19 of the attached "comic book" to help ensure your vote isn't stolen.
AND VOTE EARLY
By voting early, you'll have a chance of finding out if your vote is going to count or not and you might still do something about it. On Nov. 4, you can't do a thing. And even if you do vote early, remember, you may never know if they throw out your vote.To learn about this, click on the site below, which Robert F. My partner Wendy and I attended Gainesville's Early Vote for Change, and waited for 4 1/2 hours to see and hear Michelle Obama. We arrived in downtown Gainesville at 11am, voted early at the county administration building, waited in line, made some fun friends there, and had a great time! It was tough in the heat, but it was well worth the wait to see Michelle Obama in person, and hear her strong speech for Barack Obama.
Here's a link to some pictures from the event.

I Baracked my vote today!
I drove 60 miles (roundtrip) on the mean freeways of Los Angeles County to get to the County Registrar's office. I was in and out within a half-hour. It was a smooth process, and the poll workers were all very friendly and helpful.
On the way home, my front driver's side tire decided to shred at a point where there was no shoulder. I had to fight my steering wheel until I reached a point where there was a shoulder.
Now, I've never changed a tire in my life. If I were on a country lane with no traffic to speak of, I might have given it a try. But I was on a major freeway, parked next to semi-tractor-trailers flying past at 65 mph. So, I called non-emergency 911 and, within 15 minutes, both a California Highway Patrol officer and an LA County Freeway Service Patrol truck came to my rescue. The serviceman put on my "donut" tire, and I was on my way home.
Now, normally, I would have been really upset about the tire incident. In fact, it probably would have ruined my whole day. Instead, I was (and still am) feeling so good about having voted early, that even this incident did not shake my mood.
I tell you this long story for one reason: To let you know that you, too, can get a boost of pride and joy by casting your vote early, as permitted in your State.
Love to Grandma Toot!
