I agree about ONE VOICE. I never get tired of hearing that speech from 2004. I still get chills and I have it on tape also as well as on my ringtone! That speech and the speech from the JJ Dinner get me everytime. ONE VOICE should be made into a commercial.

What an excellent adventure. Sometimes I want to stomp up and down and make things go my way by doing all my Obsessive Compulsive Behavior stuff so that Obama was already elected - then I realized this is all part of the process we have to go through to gain those moments of sheer joy like after the "Oprah" speech or last night after the Des Moines Register's poll came out. I want this sooooo bad - at other times I see that what will be will be and with hard work and dedication we can create a winning experience for Barack. I just wish the newscasters and "talking heads" would SHUT UP! Go Barack GO!

Once a report by the Nashua Telegraph’s Kevin Landigan made it to NH’s progressive blog, Blue Hampshire (www.bluehampshire.com), NH activists quickly became disgruntled over the reported exclusion of presidential hopefuls from the upcoming debate, sponsored by ABC-TV, WMUR and Facebook, this Saturday night.

Unless there's a mega-shock in Thursday's Iowa caucuses results, this will be the lineup of candidates invited to the pivotal debates that ABC-TV, WMUR and Facebook are sponsoring Saturday night on the campus of St. Anselm College.

Democrats: Hillary Rodham Clinton, John Edwards, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson.

Republicans: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson.

Who is left out? Joe Biden, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., former Sen. Mike Gravel, D-Alaska, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio.

Collectively, we're talking about 120 years of elective service in Congress, which is two and half times longer than Obama has been alive.

Since this is live television and the stakes couldn't be higher, all decisions can change. But the sponsors have crafted a comprehensive and controversial set of criteria for candidates to qualify.

it's weired that 2 springs ago i was running around in my new honda element with "Lincoln 2008" pasted on my driver's side window--i'm way from religious but at that time i did not even know the name Obama, but he IS a Lincoln look-alike lawyer orator launching bit from Springfield Illinois.

Dear Obama supporters.

Because things are the way they are with Iowa always going first and NH always going second, and with all forms of the media making us feel that the first few states are a 'must win' which will make or break a candidate, I'm writing this.

Did you know that before President Carter was elected no one paid much attention to Iowa?

In the past number of years, only 6% of all registered voters in Iowa went to caucus. Math tells me that 6% is not even a fraction of a percentage point compared to the rest of the United States registered voters.

I consider caucuses to be very undemocratic as they occur at an hour when not all can attend. A primary, at least, is open all day and voters can vote via secret ballot. At the very least the powers that be need to allow democrats to vote via secret ballot in caucuses as the republicans do in theirs.

I especially consider caucuses to be undemocratic and unfair due to the fact that folks working at that time, the sick and shut-ins cannot attend. Until I have my foot surgeries, I cannot stand for a long time and will not be seen in a wheel chair in front of everyone. I suppose I could have someone drag a chair to my line under the Obama sign. OK, so it will be a bit embarassing, but what can I do?

To be fair, I would love to see another state go first and I don't care which one that is.

To be fair, I'd love to see the caucus system abolished entirely in favor of holding primaries in all states.

Whether we win, place, or draw tomorrow, please remember that this tiny percentage does not begin to reflect the rest of us and how we will vote.

I'm writing this today because I don't want to have anyone think that I'm a sore looser if our guy's numbers are a little behind another candidate tomorrow.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to express my feelings here.

I hear you Theresa. I have mixed feelings about caucuses. It can be a great experience to sit in a room with your community and talk about what matters. We don't have those kinds of conversations enough. Unfortunately not everybody gets a fair vote in this country.

One of the reasons I support Sen Obama is his experience registering voters and defending voter rights. We have a lot of work to do to secure the right of each person to vote and to have that vote counted.

While I respect your opinions, I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I am totally biased since I have lived in Iowa all my life and our caucuses mean a lot to me. I suppose we don't change to a primary so we can maintain our first in the nation caucus and our friends in NH can maintain their first in the nation primary status.

With that said, many people have stated Iowa carries too much weight, that we are not representative, we should have regional or national primaries, etc.

My response to this is that Iowa winnows the field. 2000 (Gore, an incumbent VP) and 2004 were anomalies. In 1988 we went Gephart, in 1992 we went Harkin. The influence is mainly media generated, we never have claimed or aspired to imposing our decision on the rest of the nation.

With regard to the regional or national primary day, I would be very sorry if that ever happened. The candiate with name recognition and/or most money would certainly be at an advantage. In Iowa and New Hampshire, candidates have to meet face-to-face and answer some pretty tough questions. This retail, on the ground politics ensure a campaign is not just about sound bites.

On the other side of the table, think of Mike Huckabee. With very little money, he's poised to win here. In a proposed regional/national primary, we could honestly be looking at Clinton and Guiliani as the nominees. Hopefully, thanks to Iowa and NH, we won't have to worry about that.

Finally, I also speak for NH, we take this honor very seriously. With Iowa being in the middle geographically, area, and population, candidates can get around easily. I saw a poll a while back that said 1/3 of us have actually shook hands or spoke individually with a candidate, so candidates really are meeting people and they have to work their tails off.

Plus, we are so darn nice and polite in Iowa. If nothing else, it reminds the country that we don't grow potatoes here (Idaho) nor are we Ohio. Two states we're often confused for.

I'm sorry you missunderstood my meaning.

I did NOT propose or even suggest a regional/national primary. My suggestion was to give this honor and priviledge to another state and to abolish the caucus system so more people will vote.

I'm not suggesting Maine goes first because we are not representative of the US population as a whole.

If 1/3 of Iowans meet the candidates, why have only 6% of Iowans showed up to caucus in past years?

I do hope that the DNC changes their archaic and unjust rules.

Today I read that Rep mayor Loren Rickard of Brooklyn, Io is going to caucas for Barack. This is not only awesome, but HUGH. Kucinich has asked his supporters to make Barack their second choice if he does not make the curoff. It gets better and better. I know this trend is going to be explosive. Obama is going to shock a lot of people on 1/3 who did not believe in him and had no faith.

Hi Team,

To those who believe in the power of prayer: please join my family on Wed, Jan 2, 2008 in a day of prayer and fasting for Barack Obama, our movement and the problems in the nation that Barack wants to solve. By the way, we plan to hold 2 other days of prayer and fasting for Barack during the general election. Please structure the prayer and fasting according to your preference (individual prayer, group prayer, partial fast, full-day fast, no fasting at all, etc).

To those who are not inclined to do the prayer and fasting: hey, we are all still part of the diverse Obama-maniacs family. Let us all keep working together toward our common goal of transforming the political landscape of the nation.
