It's homecoming week and the parades and the games are on! Here in Des Moines our high school volunteers – BarackStars – are out representing Obama. And, true to our grassroots base, they’re getting new students signed up and involved!
Here are some pictures from the Valley parade yesterday:
And earlier this afternoon we hit up the Roosevelt parade, where the Obama group was just behind the homecoming court. We found some friends and new supporters in the dance team:
Here's some more shots from Roosevelt, during and right after the parade ended:
Tonight, Roosevelt is playing Ottumwa, and Valley is taking on Ames.
Both games start at 7:30.
Good luck everyone!!!

Thank you Guys, You are an inspiration !! But I think the campaign needs your advice. How should Barack engage older voters in Iowa? I know they are starting a faith tour. Would that be a good idea as well in Iowa ? I know that Iowa is ready for change and is embracing Barack. But, I am concerned about the elderly vote there. Thank you so much for all YOUR work ! God Bless you !

Here's what Clinton supporters are saying:
"Obama's supporters are disproportionately young. They may think they will be voting in Iowa, but come January cold weather and snow they will rethink waiting out in the cold for a candidate they don't "strongly" support.
Posted by: Ryan | September 30, 2007 6:22 PM "
They think the students are fair-weather supporters, literally. Is it true that younger voters are not passionate about this candidate? I hope the younger voters will may 'Ryan" eat his words. Every single caucus voter matters to me, every one. I hope you all feel the same.

I think this is awesome, students getting involved in politics. I hope this has an effect on adults, especially those that do not vote or have faith in our system.
Our HOPE is to restore our government to the people.
