Name:
A concerned citizen that is sick of the division in our government; politicians that are being bought by corporate and special interest groups; and a complete lack of any integrity or accountability among our politicians. I feel like many do that nothing will change. Afterall, we all know politicians will say and promise anything to get elected. The only power I have is my vote, and I vote for TRUE(not just promised)change.
Looking for a little Reassurance

I am aware of how very important Iowa and NH caucuses are to Obama's national chances at the Democratic nomination. I am also aware that Obama campaign is relying heavily on the youth vote in the early caucus. Can anyone assure me that the "young voters" are coming back to vote? Anyone with real knowledge about this, please let me know. I'm a 45 yr. old independent woman in the middle of the US. I just sent my first campaign donation ever today to the Obama campaign, and for the first time ever I will declare and caucus for Obama. PLEASE GET US STARTED OFF RIGHT!! FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!!

MSNBC just stated that Clinton has relocated most of her staff and efforts to Iowa. She knows that when Iowa falls to Barack the rest of the caucuses will soon follow suit. I smell panic in the air! Now more than ever, Iowa we count on you to mobilize and make this dream happen for all Americans. I Know it's alot of pressure, and the rest of us are relying on you to start this movement off RIGHT. Thank you for all you hard work. Keep it up! We'll all be indebt to you guys for being the heartbeat of american's that want real change. FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!

The "big O's" golden opportunity
By
Tina

I have heard the ridiculous rumors about Senator Obama's supposed "Islamic" ties and how he is might be an "internal plant" by radical islamic groups. WHAT AN OBVIOUS HATCHET JOB. The problem is that there are many americans that don't realise that these charges are completely false and unsubstantiated. The upcoming Obama/Oprah events would be the perfect forum to address, educate, and put these rumors to bed. The media coverage will be intense and will be seen in numerous newscasts--talk about reaching the maximum amount of people at once. To our leaders in the Obama campaign I say use this opportunity to educate and inspire. I see "the planets aliening" themselves for Barack and the American citizens that want their government back. Squash the misconceptions about Obama, and I guarantee you that his inspirational approach (and the thirst of the american public to have a politician they trust, believe, and want to follow)will roll like a wave over this nation. we're seeing the first ripples already. The polls are starting to change--and the trend is Barack's numbers are increasing and Hillary's are dropping. Please use the Oprah exposure wisely. It has the ability to "seal the deal" for Senator Obama. I'm not used to this. I'm so excited and hopeful for the first time in my almost 30 years of voting that I can't believe how great it feels to finally have a candidate I believe in. In the past it has always just been a matter of "choosing the 'lesser' of the two evils". I know other citizens can relate. Keep up the good, hard work!

I just caught Obama's new commercial, and I must say that it was one of the most inspirational ads I have ever seen. I only hope Obama and Oprah fill that stadium to capacity. Keep up the good work!!

Experience vs. Good Judgement
By
Tina
- Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:53 pm EST
Since there has been such a heated debate over the importance of "experience" for our next President-elect, I would like to
weigh in on the subject. Experience is without a doubt almost always a positive. However, because I am just a common,
unimportant citizen; I only have a few tools available to me to try to change this totally corrupt institution we call
the U.S. government. Those tools include my intelligence, my commonsense, and my vote which I want to use to try to put a
candidate for political change into the Whitehouse. Aren't you sick of feeling like there is absolutely no integrity and no
accountability in our government? Aren't you sick of seeing our politicians being bought by corporate and special interest
groups? I know I am!! This is why I can't really say that Senator Clinton's extra years of being submerged in the obviously
corrupt and dishonest quagmire we chose to call "our government" is much of a plus for me. As a matter of fact, I would even
go as far to say, "It's a definate liability." There is an old saying that even the most well-intentioned politician is
corrupt after spending a couple of years in Washington. I would have to say Senator Clinton's "use by" date has long since
passed. However, we may be able to catch Senator Obama before he is totally corrupted by corporate politics. As a woman,
I have no greater desire than to be a part of the process to put a woman in the U.S. Presidency. However my logical
conclusion is that with Hillary it will be business as usual. It will just be a chance for her and all of her "friends"
to get rich at the taxpayers' expense yet again. I'm like many who remember fairly good economic and social growth during
the "Clinton years". I thought the impeachment attempt on Bill Clinton was ridiculous. I thought the amount of time,
money, and resources that were wasted on "head-hunting" President Clinton was totally ridiculous. There is a part of me
that feels Senator Clinton's nomination would be a vindication from this obvious, politically-driven hatchet job the
republicans did to Bill. However, can I afford to let sympathy for a politician "done wrong" or loyalty to my gender
really be the deciding factors in my candidate choice? Absolutely not! Mine has to be a vote for change. We need
someone who pulls both parties together to get some work done, and that is not Hillary Clinton. I don't know why she
is so hated. I don't believe it is justified. Yet in a year where the democrats should win the Whitehouse hands-down,
Senator Clinton's nomination, I fear, will cost the dems yet again. Without a doubt however I am leaning towards good
judgement as being my deciding factor. Good judgement breds integrity and accountability, since people who are making
good decisions don't need to lie, manipulate, and cover-up facts. Poor judgement, on the other hand, leads to dishonesty
and a total inability to accept responsibility for the consequences of those poor decisions(for example the current Bush
administration). On this level, Clinton again fails. She has gone along with Bush at just about every turn, and when
asked about supporting Bush from the beginning of the Iraq war, she won't even admit she made a mistake. Sounds alot
like the president we have now if you ask me. She continues to pass Bush's war-mongering policies; and yet in the same
breath that she defended giving Bush new power against Iran, she also said that "we need to rein in this president's
powers". All of this lack of accountability and manipulation of the facts can only lead me to the obvious conclussion
that Senator Clinton has poor judgement. In conclussion I would have to say that what Clinton would like to tout as
"experience", I see as "exposure" to corrupt, divisive, special interest-driven, business-as-usual politics. A person
with good judgement can surround him/herself with competent experts to help make important decisions, this is also less likely
to create an ego-maniac(i.e.Bush#43). I've heard it said that "you can't fix stupid." Well as far as I'm concerned, giving
an out-of-control president more power, just so she won't be seen as "soft on terror" in a national election is not only
irresponsible on Senator Clinton's part--but it's just plain STUPID. Can't help ya with that. If you are truly fed up
with our government, make your vote count for changing the whole political landscape--not just changing the crook at the top.
