The Group Administrators Collaboration Group recently broke the 100 member mark, and is currently at 114 as of 2/26/07. This is very exciting, and serves as a reminder of what a resource we have in this group, both to share and to learn. If we have a question or concern with running our groups or organizing an event, we can instantly ask over one hundred others with similar challenges their advice, and if we have had a success on the trail, we can share it with so many others who will benefit from our ideas. We're doing great so far, and hope we can continue to utilize this valuable tool as we grow. Remember if your idea worked in your area, it'll probably work somewhere else, and every good idea that is spread is a step forward for Senator Obama and a better future for our nation. Good work, and good luck.

Here's a good example of what we could all be doing - spontaneous Obama Love! We don't need to wait for the campaign to have a rally, we don't even need to have Obama there in order to heighten enthusiasm and find new supporters. Read on:
OBAMA USING DEAN'S NETROOTS STRATEGY: About 300 backers of Illinois SenatorBarack Obama gathered in Dallas this week to boost his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. The candidate was nowhere in sight. He didn't need to be.The group, with no help from the Obama campaign, organized the Feb. 19 event onits own through the Web site Meetup.com. The impromptu rally is exactly what Obama's campaign is counting on to help counter the fundraising prowess of the party's front-runner, Senator Hillary Clinton. Hearing about the event, at the Wyndham Dallas North hotel,Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe called in and someone held a cell phoneto a microphone so he could address the crowd. "Obama has some real advantages because he is fresh and he is new and he is appealing to young people," said Joe Trippi, who ran former Vermont Governor Howard Dean's Democratic primary campaign in 2004. Those attributes "work particularly well in terms of Internet fundraising," said Fred Wertheimer, president of the Washington watchdog group Democracy 21. Click here for rest...
Hey everyone- I found another set of interesting poll numbers that show not only the democratic candidates' standings, which is understandably what most of us have been looking at, but also some red vs. blue matchups and where they stand right now. Reveals there's still a lot of work to be done to get the word out about Senator Obama, since in some categories up to 40% of those polled didn't know enough about his stances to have an opinion about him. This is a real opportunity, since most people seem to have already made up their mind about Hillary one way or another. Anyway, just something interesting to look over and keep in mind! Keep up the good fight! - Michael M.

Hopefully the last bit regarding the listserv emails; I have changed the settings so that any reply to a listserv email will go only to the original sender, not everyone. This should reduce extraneous chatter for all of us and allow members to carry their specific discussions between themselves. Hopefully we're all hunky dory now, let me know if you're not! :-)

Regarding the Administrator Collaboration Group's listserv, I've sent out an email detailing some guidelines regarding its use. I know some of you removed yourselves from the listserv due to frustrations with it and its over-use. If you are one of these people, please email me at whidbey-4-obama@hotmail.com and I will be happy to discuss your concerns, or let you know when the listserv has calmed down. I can monitor the listserv on a per email basis if need be, but hope not to. I would also be happy to just forward pertinent emails to you as they come, if that's what you would prefer. Thanks to everyone for helping make this work!

The "Group Administrators for Obama Collaboration Group" was mentioned in a Chicago Tribune web log article on Feb. 15, as Vermonter pointed out in a previous comment. Check out the link below!
Excerpt reads: "Meanwhile, the most meta group is, in all likelihood, "Group Administrators for Obama Collaboration Group." It's a group about groups, a group group."
That's very exciting! Any publicity we generate is good for Obama and good for getting more people to the site! I was a little worried when I started the group that it would get lost in the shuffle, since so many groups were springing up, but it seems to be catching on! We're getting more group members every day, and going strong, so keep up the good work everyone!

I want to welcome everyone to the group! I'm very pleased that we already have members from all parts of the country! I'm sure we'll continue to grow and that this will be a valuable resource for group administrators and organizers. Please share your ideas and strategies on this blog, or as one member suggested, you can post a link here to your own FTP site with your ideas. I look forward to working with all of you!
Thanks, Michael M, Group Administrator
Today we all got the news we had been waiting for - Barack Obama will run for President of the United States. Hopefully we can get him all the way to the White House, and then begin the long and difficult task of repairing our damaged nation. The only way we can do this, I feel, is behind a leader with the vision to see beyond his own political goals, the courage to aspire to more than we have achieved in the past, and the intelligence, integrity and charisma to inspire and truly lead the American people to a more peaceful, prosperous future for all of us.
