To Whom It May Concern:
I am a _________(viewer/listener/reader) of your________ (programs/newspaper), and I also purchase many of the products that are advertised_____(on/in) your_________(shows/newspaper). This letter is to express my extreme displeasure in your coverage of health care reform. As you know, freedom of the press, as well as freedom of speech are two important inalienable rights. They ensure that the public receive information which can lead to sound public discourse based in fact and expressed with decorum. However, with rights comes responsibility. Your responsibility is to report the news in an unbiased manner; not to sensationalize and capitalize on disinformation prevalent among many. You endlessly loop or glamorize the unruly behavior seen at many health care town hall meetings. Yet, barely mention those responsible for inciting such behavior. There are calls to action via the internet, special interests groups, and others whose main purpose is to halt any type of reform. Their agenda is to stop any reform, which has been overtly expressed by members of the opposition and their affiliated organizations. My concern is not the misguided citizens, who believe the propaganda and untruths that they've been fed. My concern is that your organization feels no responsibility toward those same people by providing them with facts. Any unbiased reporting would debunk the disinformation regarding health care. Lacking that, you allow these same naysayers to work against their own best interests. The organized opposition to any real health care reform count on you to withhold the truth from their minions. You may become part of the solution to what ails this country, or you may remain much of the problem that plagues us. You could easily report that there is no illegal alien, death committee, and/or abortion provision in any reform that has been suggested. Why not squelch rumors that are based in fear? Stop inferring that town hall disruptions are from both sides. The blame lies with uninformed protesters who go unchallenged. Push back on guests who appear on your programs with obvious falsehoods. Challenge them to tell the truth of the matter. Our great country is either on the doorstep of a great new chapter in the lives of most of us, or at the precipice of a chasm that may become too wide to ever overcome. How you choose to portray this reform, will ultimately set the tone of how we relate to each other in the future as one nation .
Sincerely,
Senator ______________,Your support for reformed health care with a strong public option is very much appreciated by your constituents and an overwhelmingly 72% of the country at large. That you understand the enormous impact that reform has on those who sorely need and want better health care, is a testament to how well you represent us in the __________(Senate/Congress). You realize what an abomination it is that a nation as wealthy as ours, still view health care as a privilege, rather than a right. It is appalling that we spend more than other industrialized nations, yet we are nowhere near the top in coverage for our citizens.President Obama has been diligent in his efforts to obtain affordable, reliable, and fair health care for all Americans. Like President Obama, you demonstrate that same willingness to champion such a noble goal. You are very much in tune to the mandate that voters sent. Your support shows that you respect and honor the overwhelming majority who elected President Obama. The country is fortunate to have someone like you, who takes the obligation and duty to act on our behalf seriously. A grass root effort sent President Obama to Washington as our change agent. We are paying attention to those in Washington, whom we trusted to advance our cause. President Obama asked us to believe not just in his ability to help bring change to Washington, but to believe in our own ability to do so. We've awaken and we realize we have the power to accomplish just that. Representation such as yours reminds us that through the democratic process, we can succeed. Thank you for joining us on the right side of history with your support.
We understand that fiscal matters causes many to pause. We also know that you are fiscally responsible enough to also look at the cost of Americans losing their insurance each day. You can put into perspective the cost concerns as you consider the price of Americans living in fear of a catastrophic illness or a child's ear infection. Thank you again for realizing that losing homes, retirement savings, or college tuition is no longer acceptable. As profits continue to grow in the health insurance industry, you affix a fair profit to insurance companies who first satisfy shareholders and their bottom line. Health care reform only gives them an incentive to administer quality health care through viable competition.
Those of you in the congress and Senate are afforded the best in health care. I don't begrudge you for that, because I want my tax dollars to keep my representatives well. You have the understanding to know that we all do a better job, when there's no concern for the health and welfare of our immediate family members. You consider the rest of America's health care as you do your own, attempting to give us peace of mind, as well as robust standard health care that you enjoy. Again, thank you for casting your vote for your constituents as opposed to an industry whose sole purpose is to increase the value of their stock, rather than the value of our lives.Sincerely,
___________
And once again, he hits it out of the park!
Thank You Mr. President for a wonderful job.
